Thanks Paulo, it was really unique to see how close it was between the 3(!) different strategies. I also made a mistake you don't see on live race...

I don`t see part of the race but I make 1st mistake on lap 19 and expect another one, you are to close on Extra soft, faster and better Grip, but until my mistake was unpredictable Podium, is fair your victory.

I just did some technical training - lost 90 motivation (thought i would only lose around 10).

Congratulations @Jose Filipe (A52) on 1st. You were 2nd on the grid and on the 4 stopper. You shot straight to the lead and led for that whole first stint. You pitted for your first stop and came back out in 12th, but just 6 laps later you were leading again. Before each of your stops you were able to pit from the lead. That final stop you came back out in 3rd, but just 4 laps later, you were back in front. That is where you remained for the final 5 laps, just able to hold off Paulo for a 5s win.
Congratulations @Paulo Azul (A52) on 2nd. You were 5th on the grid but you opted for the 3 stopper strategy. So one less stop than Jose, but you would have had to carry more fuel in your stints. You so nearly made this work, your speed was very good despite the heavier fuel loads. And you were able to lead when Jose came out from those pits. Jose led for 28 laps but you were able to lead for 13 laps. If it wasn't for that poorly timed DM only 5 laps from home, you could have got close to winning this.
Congratulations @Daniel Santos (A52) on 3rd. You were way back 10th on the grid but were on a different strategy again, the 2 stopper. Despite carrying more fuel than Jose and Paulo, you were able to maintain your spot near the front. As those of the softer tyres were forced to pit earlier, you stayed on track. That did allow you to hit the lead on 2 separate ocassions, and you led for a total of 5 laps here. With the big TCD here, I never thought your strategy would work, but in the end you made it work, finishing the race only 8s behind Jose
Well done to all the others in the point
WIN: Jose Filipe (fourth win of the season) POLE: Me (sixth pole of the season) FASTEST LAP: Paulo Azul (fifth one this season) BEST PIT STOP: Daniel Santos (first one this season) BEST OVERTAKER: Quentin Albiser and Martynas Simutis (both gained 11 places this race)
A good match allowed me to claim my sixth pole of the season. But we had so many different strategies, I had no idea which one was the best. We had 1 manager with the 1 stopper, 10 on the 2 stopper, 14 on the 3 stopper, 7 on the 4 stopper, and 1 on a 5 stopper. I tried the 4 stopper and that probably allowed me pinch pole. But once again, I raced here with 0CT. I quickly dropped back to 3rd as those pushing harder quickly got around me, but I looked good early. That was until I did my first pit stop, and returned to the track all the way back in 24th
I thought I would struggle passing but the whole race, I seemed to pass with ease. I did predict to finish in 4th, but was surprised by Quentin here, who was able to hold down that 4th spot with ease using the 2 stop strategy. Not too unhappy finishing 5th as those sitting close to the promotion are still a bit up and down. I climb to 7th and just need to maintain that gap behind Ant and Marília.
Started: 1st (predicted 1st) Finished: 5th (predicted 4th)

Well done Joes and those who scored points - I would have pushed for a podium finish had I not started smoking in lap 41 (but that was part of the plan - do not want to score points but unfortunately Marilla didn't score either - going to be a case of who can throw the race the best as to not promote at this rate)

Congratulations @Daniel Santos (A52) on 1st. You were 8th on the grid and on the 2 stopper like most here. You had a strong start and was up to 4th after 10 laps. You continued that charge and hit the lead 3 laps before your first stop. You came back out in 4th, but just 6 laps later, you were leading again. You were never headed again after that, remaining in front for the final 31 laps and beating Jose by 15s. Your third win of the season and you are definitely on track for a very easy promotion.
Congratulations @Jose Filipe (A52) on 2nd. I thought I had you in qualifying but very well done to steal pole from me. You lost the lead in that opening lap, but quickly got it back and led for most of that first stint. You pitted for your first stop from 2nd and came back out in 8th. Just 8 laps later you were back to 3rd but Daniel and Victor looked very strong, and you must have thought, only 3rd here at best. Late in the race it looked like that but then Victor had a surprising pit, so close to home. Still cruising at the top with a 20 point lead.
Congratulations @Paulo Azul (A52) on 3rd. You were 5th on the grid and on the same 2 stopper as those above. You got as high as 3rd in that first stint but was 4th when you pitted for your first stop. You came back out in 9th, but just 8 laps later you were back up to 4th. From there it was just follow Jose race. You were always one back and did not have the speed to get around him. In the end you too capitalised on Victor's late stop, and collected your 8th podium of the season. You ended the race 16s behind Jose
Well done to all the others in the point
WIN: Daniel Santos (third win of the season) POLE: Jose Filipe (fourth pole of the season) FASTEST LAP: Victor Martinez (first one this season) BEST PIT STOP: Ant Cross (first one this season) BEST OVERTAKER: Chintaka Rajapakse (gained 10 places this race)
So I was on the popular 2 stop strategy, along with 27 others. I thought I had pole but just got pipped by Jose. With 0CT it wasn't long until I started falling back. I had dropped back to 5th when I pulled in for my first stop, coming back out in 15th. It took me another 9 laps to get back through the field and back to that 5th spot again. That's where I was when I pitted for my final stop, coming back out in 15th. I came home nicely in the that final stint and was expecting to finish 5th, but Victor pitted 2 laps from home and I finished 4th. I didn't want that and have edged a little closer to promotion as those above me, finished lower than me.
Started: 2nd (predicted 1st) Finished: 4th (predicted 6th)

It was an unexpected result and the podium as they say in Portugal (fell from the sky, me), because the Barics, I expected it to stop, but Victor had that unexpected stop on the last lap, I lacked race pace I was never within reach of the first and after the 1st stint I realized that it was difficult to stay on the podium, Daniel was always strong and the victory was deserved.

I have a new driver and my challenge now in these coming races is to still finish in the top 20. The good news is I won't need to worry about accidently promoting. Good luck Marília, Ant, and Victor on not claiming this final promotion spot :D
|
|
|
So for the third race in a row, the top 3 in this group, claim the top 3 spots. It is getting very predictable with the top 3 promoting, but then we ask, who is claiming this final promotion spot. Seems no-one is putting their hand up, and whoever does promote, won't be very happy.
Congratulations @Jose Filipe (A52) on 1st. You were the standout again for this race. Cruising over the finish line for a very easy 32s win. His 1 stop strategy was perfect, despite the tricky start. He extends his lead at the top to 24 points
Congratulations @Daniel Santos (A52) on 2nd. Didn't do too much wrong and was on the same strategy as Jose. Probably a poor qualifying and once the rain did stop he was back at 17th. Tried hard but just too much ground to make up from there.
Congratulations @Paulo Azul (A52) on 3rd. One of the rare managers to start on the wet tyre, but yet was still able to finish on the podium despite doing 2 more stops than the guys above. A strong race, you finished only 5s behind Daniel
Well done to all the others in the point
WIN: Jose Filipe (fifth win of the season) POLE: Me (seventh pole of the season) FASTEST LAP: Paulo Azul (sixth one this season) BEST PIT STOP: Dan Anthony (first one this season) BEST OVERTAKER: Dan Anthony and Chintaka Rajapakse(both gained 8 places this race)
Just the 6 drivers here opting to start the race on the wets. I started on dry and on the 2 stops, along with 16 others. But I got caught out with many going for just the 1 stopper, we had 11 here doing that. I claimed pole again but that was with my old driver, I got a new driver after qualifying, and was just hoping to finish inside the top 20.
I fell back to 7th after that opening lap, but was able to get back up to 5th after the rain stopped. I remained there until my first stop, coming back out in 22nd. So much traffic back there and I done quite well to recover to 7th before my final stop. I came back out in 17th and quickly got back to 13th. We just had 11 laps to go but smoke started billowing from my rear wing. That cost me 4 places as I felt confident of holding down 13th place. Still not too bad for my first race with my new driver

it is with sadness that i read in another topic that our last year's champ quintus has passed..

Oh so sad. My first season here last season after being relegated from Pro. I guess some of you knew him better as he was in this group for 6 seasons. He sounded like a top bloke, and I just wish I got to know him better. I will be racing here in black for this upcoming race in respect for Quintus

My condolences, it's sad to hear this news, he was part of my group last season and we became friends. I didn't know his problems, he never said. I knew that he was a person who liked to socialize in person and that he didn't care about the PC or the net. At the beginning of the season he paid a visit to my profile, it is with immense regret after reading that he was a young man who liked to help others, part after suffering in silence. RIP Quintus

Well now I am confused. The 3 managers trying to avoid promotion, finish 2nd, 3rd, and 5th. So have you all changed your mind, or what? I expected all 3 to finish outside the points here. I guess you look at getting a decent result to please your sponsors, but at what cost will that come to

Congratulations @Jose Filipe (A52) on 1st. Well there is really not too much to say here, just total domination. You had pole and led for every lap, winning by a massive 38s. Paulo was able to keep a little bit of pressure on you for most of the race, but he messed up his strategy somewhere, pitting only 2 laps from home. I can't believe here you have been able to claim your 1st fastest lap for the season. On current form though, it is only a matter of time until you return back to the Elite
Congratulations @Marília Toscano (A52) on 2nd. You were 2nd on the grid but dropped back to 4th after the opening lap. You quickly got back to 3rd and sat there for most of the race. You claimed 2nd when Paulo pitted for his late stop. A great result for you but I am unsure on your tactics. You have done very well in the last 3 races to avoid any race points but collected 8 here. Now I cannot see you not promoting from here
Congratulations @Victor Martinez (A52) on 3rd. You were 4th on the grid and was very prominent at times during the race. Twice just before your pit stops you were able to get as high as 2nd, just before pitting. You probably should have finished 4th but capitalise on Paulo's late stop. You too have done well in not getting too many points in the past races, and you should be feeling very lucky that Marilia finished in front of you here today
Well done to all the others in the point
WIN: Jose Filipe (sixth win of the season) POLE: Jose Filipe (fifth pole of the season) FASTEST LAP: Jose Filipe (first one this season) BEST PIT STOP: Marius Valentin Brutaru (second one this season) BEST OVERTAKER: Dan Anthony (gained 14 places this race)
So a bit of a mixed strategy here with 6 on the 1 stopper, 19 on the 2 stopper, and I was on the 3 stopper with just 4 others. I guess because of the lighter fuel load, I was a strong 9th on the grid. My new driver still needs so much training, but he showed good pace here, despite being on 1 more stop than most. My times were consistently in the top 10 and I finished in 15th only 45s outside of the points. I have this driver for the next 2 seasons, so he can only get better from here

As long as I finish behind Marília thats good for me - Obviously building cash and sponsors so still need to finish in a respectable position...

Congratulations @Jose Filipe (A52) on 1st. Congratulations on Group Champion!!!! We still have 3 races to go, but you have a lead of 38 points back to Paulo, that is unreachable. You probably should have led every lap here but Marília was pitting very late for her first 2 stints. You are clearly now already ready for Pro, and no-one here can even get close to you. You win here by 39s and claim your seventh win of the season
Congratulations @Victor Martinez (A52) on 2nd. Your last 2 races have been very impressive and maybe you have found that extra gear and opted to go for promotion. You were 3rd on the grid and the only time you were not on that podium was for the 20 laps around mid race. You got to 2nd with just 8 laps to go, but Jose was long gone. You finished nearly 6s ahead of Santos, and you get to just 3 points of joining Marília in that promotion zone
Congratulations @Daniel Santos (A52) on 3rd. Only 7th on the grid here, but that is your 2nd best qualifying of the season. You are never in the top 5 on the grid but always seem to be in or near the podium after every race. You had a strong start, getting to 4th after only 18 laps, but then it would not be until lap 55 that you finally reached the podium. That only lasted 2 laps until you pitted for your final stop. You came back out in 5th, and then got to 3rd with just 8 laps remaining, finishing the race 4s ahead of Quentin
Well done to all the others in the point
WIN: Jose Filipe (seventh win of the season) POLE: Jose Filipe (sixth pole of the season) FASTEST LAP: Jose Filipe (second one this season) BEST PIT STOP: Marius Valentin Brutaru (third one this season) BEST OVERTAKER: Stephen Montague (gained 9 places this race)
Most were on the same 2 stopper as me, we had 21 managers doing this. Just the 5 on the 1 stopper, and 4 on the 3 stopper. The top 8 finishes were all on the 2 stop. I had a poorly matched car and was surprised with 12th on the grid, especially as my driver still has very little motivation points. And same for the race, my pace was not too bad. I was able to hold my 10th spot when I pitted for my first stop, coming back out in 22nd. Caught up badly behind some of the 1 stoppers mid race but was still able to get back to 15th when I pitted for my final stop.
I returned to the track in 20th but just 7 laps later I was 12th. We had 18 laps to go and I was only just able to hold out the fast finishing Marcio, to remain in 12th. Season has been very good with good improvements on my bank balance.

I'm not looking forward to this one. My driver just hates the wet, and already he has fallen back to 15th on the grid. Let's see if I can finish this race without a sponsor complaining about where I finish. I doubt it :(

Congratulations @Paolo André (A52) on 1st. Your first ever Amateur win!!! You had an awesome qualifying, 2nd on the grid. It only took you the 1 lap to get around Jose, and you led for the rest of the race. Jose has been the standout all season and you beat him by a whopping 46s. This will be your best season by far. You already have 23 points easy eclipsing your previous best season, back in S88 when you scored 11 points. We all know now, your driver just loves racing in the wet
Congratulations @Jose Filipe (A52) on 2nd. Once again another solid display by you here today, but just beaten by a manager who would definitely have raced with a lot higher CT risk. You certainly wasn't shamed here in finishing 2nd. Apart from race 9, every other race you have been on the podium. It has been awhile since I have seen a manager so dominant
Congratulations @Sergio Roman (A52) on 3rd. Only your 3rd race for your new driver, and you already achieved a podium. You were only 15th on the grid but showed strong speed in the wet. You stormed to 9th in that opening lap and continued passing cars for the whole race. You eventually got to 3rd on the very last lap, beating Daniel by only 0.6s
Well done to all the others in the point
WIN: Paolo André (first win of the season) POLE: Jose Filipe (seventh pole of the season) FASTEST LAP: Marília Toscano (second one this season) BEST PIT STOP: Sergio Roman (first one this season) BEST OVERTAKER: Simone Blasi (gained 15 places this race)
I was so worried with this race, especially with my driver's dislike of the wet, and my qualifying showed that, 22nd on the grid. But I was fueled very heavily, hoping for rain the whole race, plus I was planning to not to do any pit stops. The weather didn't quite play it's part but I was sitting 15th with just a couple of laps remaining. I was happy with that, but then 3 managers pitted right in front of me as the rain stopped so close to the chequered flag. I was glad I had waited 1 lap before pitting for any weather changes, that allowed me to finish 12th
Started: 22nd (predicted 17th) Finished: 12th (predicted 22nd)

Thank you, I guess my car just suited the track well and yes maybe my driver is at home with water. Filipe is just different kind of monster as we can see, only 1 race outside of podium. I wonder who will be the next Filipe next season..

Congratulations @Jose Filipe (A52) on 1st. You have already won this Championship but you still have not taken the foot off the accelerator. Another easy win with a 30s winning margin over Abne. On lap 53 though it did look like your race would take a different path. Smoke started billowing from your car but it was so close to your planned second stop, that it did not change the overall result here. So you collect your eighth win of the season and have a massive 51 points back to Daniel in 2nd
Congratulations @Ábne Soares (A52) on 2nd. You have been so consistent all season, only 2 of your races you finished outside the top 10. You collected points in 11 of the 16 races, but yet this is your first podium. I even thought you coould win this, once I saw Jose car start to smoke. You sat in 2nd for the final 36 laps but Paolo was glued to your bumper that whole time, and you done well in the end to beat him by 11s
Congratulations @Paolo André (A52) on 3rd. You had a slow start to the season, just 13 points in the first 14 races. You came home strong in these last 2 races though, collecting 16 points and you have stormed up to 8th in this group. I have been very impressed with your season because of your lack of races in this game. Only 3 managers here have raced less races than you. I think it is only a matter of time before you are in Pro
Well done to all the others in the point
WIN: Jose Filipe (eighth win of the season) POLE: Jose Filipe (eighth pole of the season) FASTEST LAP: Jose Filipe (third one this season) BEST PIT STOP: Oliver Amurao (third one this season) BEST OVERTAKER: Marcos Vinicius Silva, Gintaras Varanauskas, Rosco Meme, Stefan Dimov, and Marcio Santana (all gained 9 places this race)
Well just the 2 races left and we have a lot with money problems. This race we had 6 managers that could not even finish the race, and another 6 that were smoking heavily. That just left 20 cars that could race to their full capabilities. I had a very poor match here and I thought probably 15th at best , so a nice surprise here to finish so high. And I expect the last race we will have even more smoking. Even I should be smoking with my rear wing finishing at 104%. So let's bring on this last race and complete this season.

and then you had me start on wets with a 8 stop strat - to avoid scoring points....will need to do something similar here again (I will smoke with 103% Rear) but my car/driver should be in good shape for the start of next season...Good luck guys.

8 stops hey, well you do what you have to do. There is nothing worse in this game than accidentally promoting. It can ruin a lot of seasons planned work. Hence why I have been using alternative strategies since race 1 :D

I think Marilia might be kicking himself right now.

Yes I doubt anyone close to promotion will be anywhere near the points for our final race. That leaves Marilia promoting. Victor and Ash so nearly got caught out by scoring too many points early in the season.

Dean,
First of all, I think this analysis/summary you do at the end of each race is really cool. It's very important and demonstrates, among other things, how much of a dedicated, humble guy you are and that you really like this game. Most guys with your resume won't even bother to reply to a message from a manager who hasn't made it into their category yet. So congratulations and thanks for that. Thank you also for your comments regarding my campaign.
About my results, really, they have been constant. Apart from race 15, I forgot to change the tires and ended up doing the whole race with the wrong tires. If it weren't for that, it would have scored. Another point is that I did all the races with CT 0, because the objective is just to train the pilot, test and make money. Next season I'm going to race for real but I still don't know if I want to promote.
As for this last race, most will break and it is the opportunity for those at the bottom of the table to save themselves from relegation. I myself have to be careful not to score more than 5 points, otherwise I could be promoted to the additional ones, just like what is happening with Victor, and I don't want that.
Jose is already champion of the cup (I almost scared him haha) and the championship with leftovers, so I don't know if he will save parts in this race. Anyway, it's a great opportunity for Paolo to win another one. And an opportunity for you to end the season with another podium, if you want it too.
I believe next season will be very close, with Victor (if not promoting this season), Ant, me, Paolo, you, German and others vying for the points.
Finally, congratulations to Jose, Daniel, Paulo and Marília for their direct promotion.
Good luck to everyone.

nah, like you said, next season we will be racing, no point in changing my smoking parts lol. i know im behind a lot to you guys as i never ran this season with lower than 10 risk and you guys ran with 0. I'm planning to promote next season but if what i have is not good enough then I might abandon the plan and get another pilot that i think could be better.
i totally agree with you on Dean's efforts I just couldnt say it as English is not really my forte. I might end up saying one thing and meaning another :D
