Track position will be key! The one qualifying on pole, will be the most likely winner providing all works out on the technical side of things! Unless you are Leclerc...

I saw less of the race than usual. Added to the inopportune commercial breaks of 5 minutes, those monkeys were playing with their new toy 'a real helicopter'.
They have a lot of trees and all those beautiful yachts! Lots of balconies and vantage points and some clouds in the distance. There are cars on the road see that dark one is Max a red one must be Carlos, AstinMartin are camouflaged by the trees.
Trying get fancy just made the race more boring than usual. They keep tinkering with the racing product, those new comers will head over to the 500 and soon forget Formula 1 as a joke.
The helicopter shots really were stunning, and gave me a new appreciation for how packed in the circuit is. I get it, history, but I have no idea how the FIA requires modern circuits to have so many safety features and so much runoff whereas Monaco gets to be Monaco. I guess other than the tunnel section the speeds are quite moderate in the grand scheme.
Meanwhile it's incredibly lucky that the flying wheel at Indy didn't kill a dozen people. I thought the street car it hit would have had more damage.

I heard it's the Monaco exclusive TV contract that was broken, now I guess is Sky, the official Monaco GP broadcaster, I watched on F1TV, so no ads there, The camera angles were a bit more inaccurate that other times, but I think it's only get better. Helicopter showed more angles, and sometimes not the race.
Race was mostly focused on back-markers and Sainz at the beginning, But it was where the action was.
Why would you be at all surprised that Ferrari blew the strategy? It's the only thing you can rely on them for.
Well, I wouldn't think an organization as big as Ferrari cannot sort their issues from one year to the next, and It was a bit of desperation what made Carlos hit the back of the car in front, and created his bad luck in a way. but then the pitstops were not as fast as needed, in a way, moving on to the next one.
You would hope that a factory racing team, especially at the highest level of the sport, could sort its issues out relatively quickly, but instead Ferrari has had its head up its arse for years now on the strategic/sporting side of things.
Unfortunately Max was under no pressure once Aston wasted ~20 seconds with their extra pit stop. The cars would have been much closer together and with some pressure on Max, and in the rain no less. Alonso had nothing to lose, Max was/is protecting his growing championship lead. A missed opportunity for Aston to be sure.
They seem to have found some issues with Charles car, they replaced Energy storage, and Control Electronics, along with a new gearbox, He will start the race from Pit lane
Well Ferrari helped Albon with that task thanks to their race strategy (their pit stops came before the SC but they could have come back in for softs if they wanted to). It was actually a very compelling race through the top 10 if you put a piece of tape at the upper left corner of your TV covering 1 - VER.
TV didn't show VER anyways.. You saw him on first lap because he was behind NOR, but then until the end, in very few moments..
A few teams are getting better results, since Ferrari, Aston and MErc are not developing as fast as the rest.. well, HAAS is at the very bottom now even with all the advantages of CFD and WT..
Yeah, Alonso did not have the competitive car this week. Looking forward to the rest of the season. Outside of Max the field is fun to watch racing.
I spoiled that, by watching Senna and Villeneuve past dust ups. They sound so sweet revving at 17k and hand shifting!? Wow!! Doing 150 mph one handed and shifting while passing another car. Just awesome. Today F1 is okay but then, it was blood, sweat and tears to finish.
One thing is certain, none of them were angels, they played dirty like today but they didn't complain like today's wieners.
The sound of those V12's and V10's just makes my heart beat faster.
