I think you could be right on that.
When Hamilton got out of his car, I thought this is hurting drivers. Now, I think it was a page from soccer playing tactics. Pain yes... but with some good acting to embellish the image.

As of now, 6 manufacturers are registered to supply power units 2026-on
Alpine Racing Audi Ferrari S.p.A. Honda Racing Corporation Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains Ltd. Red Bull Ford.
It looks like Honda had a couple of offers for the powertrain, one of them seem to have been McLaren.. Now that Honda makes a good enough unit, it would be nice to see McLaren return to the top.. Also I don't understand Honda movements, they sucked, then they got it OK, then left, then saw their engine could win a championship and wanted back.. I didn't expect that back and forth coming from them..

pienso que Mclaren se quedo con ganas a ver el retiro equipo Mercedes antes 2026 para que Mclaren vuelve ser oficial de motor mercedes

I saw some hate when Red Bull announced Ford partnership. But hell, Honda are one really unreliable partner. Yes, their engine last 2 seasons is perfect, and truly gave a chance to Redbull to return to the top, but they are the ones deciding to leave the sport and leave Red Bull alone. Let's not forget, that their leaved car in 2009 become a masterpiece, but they couldn't wait to fulfill their potential. Same happen now, but since Red Bull was going all alone they decided they could just come back.

He is such an Alonso fan he emulated Alonso's preseason bicycle crash from 2 years ago. What a wholesome tribute

Personally I think Honda sucked with McLaren due to the fact that they never coordinated and worked together.
The engine is the biiggest and heaviest element in all the car, it can severely affect aerodynamic, weight distribution, center of gravity and many, many more.s
McLaren wanted a chasssis design that was not necessarily the best one of the the Honda Engine and thus they never interfaced design and engine.
Red Bull made the engine part of their car design (as it should be) and thus modified the car to better embrace the engine, that is the reason why the change from the worst engine to the second best was so sudden. In fact this was a problem when Red Bull used Renault engines, because Renault provided the engine as such very late and was always subject to changes.
If McLaren takes back the Honda Engine, they should learn how to develop the car together.

Quote ( Enrique Gonzalez @ February 20th 2023,20:06:33 ) pienso que Mclaren se quedo con ganas a ver el retiro equipo Mercedes antes 2026 para que Mclaren vuelve ser oficial de motor mercedes I hope you're right Enrique, but I don't think Mercedes engine is all that bad t the moment, 2026 will probably see a shake in the order..
It would be nice to see Honda in 2026, the more options the better IMO. This weekend we will start seeing the cars moving, and speculation over who's faster will spark all kind of emotions. I see mind games already, like Mercedes issues (I believe ficticious) with the sidepods, and probable change of direction from the team away from the 0-pod. (IMO too late for that)
Aston will give the wings to the Brazilian, Felipe Drugovich, and maybe if he is lucky his first race.
Ferrari gys are again saying this is their year!.. Forza tifosi! I need to spend the remaining days to pick my driver.. since SV left me...

Alonso got his hopes up today...

I think McLaren might be in for a tough season.

What was it? front brake issues in session 2? Or was that wheel top deflector broken?
|
|
|
Test Day 2, PM session: Mercedes seem to have a bad day, just stopped on track bringing Red flag, car stuck in 4th gear, Maybe a Hydraulics issue..

It would be due to the heat, it lacks cooling, I say layers

Seems like Drugs is gonna sit in for Stroll for the first race.

Pat Symonds worried Ferrari has a lot of porpoising, F1 had the intention of raising the floor 25mm, but teams pushed for whar we have now, 15mm raise on the floor.. I guess they must find their balance for next week.. It looks mighty for Red Bull. Mercedes kinda hinted they will fight for wins later in the year... Imagine Nico Hulk's face if F. Drugovich scores a podium..

I miss the old Alfa Romeo livery already..

At any time, instead of tracks, they will put rails so you don't get lost, without a doubt, F1 is losing its great drivers 🤔

What's worse is the massive red Orlen sponsor on the Alpha Tauri. First the names were similar and now this. They may as well merge together and make way for Andretti

There was a time in the past when Alfa Romeo and McLaren were almost identical.. The red don't go with the bare Carbon Fiber I think.. it looks too dark on TV, Now too many cars are dark, I wonder if that is going to be an issue next sunday
Alpha Tauri and Haas have very similar liveries when you follow from the TV,

After the testing session, we only now have less than a week to start the Championship.
Red Bull look like last year Ferrari seems to have lost a bit of an edge, specially on the rear aero area. Mercedes seem to have close the gap by a small amount (will it be enough to get some wins?) They will bring a new car (ish) in Baku. They call it an evolution of the current, it will NOT look like Red Bull or Ferrari. Alpine looks fast, but they sandbagged all three days McLaren lost the compass, Ricciardo is counting his $18M he got to get out of the way, and Lando is allegedly punching holes in the walls of his room. Alfa Romeo, pretty fast, like last year, I wonder what they can do to develop their car further Aston Martin the best of the rest? (didn't they say something similar last year? lol Haas optimism for the season is fueled by Ferrari power unit, I didn't see anything radical to say they can stand out in the mid-pack Alpha Tauri has a driver lineup that is very young, a car that is probably worth the 7th place in constructor (IMO) Williams, I wish them the best..

Lando looked ready to explode in his Ted's Notebook day 3 interview, never seen him like that. He said all the right things like a pro but Ted Kravitz's jovial style was clearly winding him up under the circumstances.
Ted: You know when you get pulled by the dogs and they.. Lando: Oh the huskies Ted: ..and they do whoopsies in front of you and all you can smell is the dog whoopsie Lando: [already walking off] Alright, cheers thank you very much.

Did they sandbag or is their engine made of glass again?
