Well, we are in 2023, and All teams have already announced their drivers, although some team principals and directors left their teams leaving a position to be filled soon..

Imho it would be good to have an 11th team (even a 12th!), but they are speaking from 2026, so long way to go.
Also Cadillac is buying the PU Technologies from Renault (something like Red Bull Powertrains with Honda) that define the difficulties for to be in, but ok anyway.

Well Honda messed up, and now they want back in.. I would like to see how this develops

Porsche fail to agree with Red Bull and now there is not a lot of possibilities... Williams? The problem is that Porsche want to buy a team (as basically Audi did with Sauber).
About Honda, rumours are that is going to buy Alpha Tauri and make a team Honda on their own, meanwhile they continue to support RedBull (Powertrains).
But it is a long way to go to 2026 and a lot it can change (for example some actual team can leave, some new entry as Andretti), too far to have a clear view.

I think they deserve a chance. I believe F1 should have 11 or 12 teams on the grid and I totally see a 2 American teams being on.

Still wondering if they can manage to win something with Williams. They wanted RedBull really bad and now it's hard to go with Williams. Its still a historic name, but they will need a lot of work to catch up. Audi already working hard.

Can't tell what this is supposed to be. Don't think he has had a leadership role before so it's not necessarily an upgrade for Williams. And it's a loss for Mercedes. So unless they're gonna make some weird data sharing pact I dunno why this is a thing.

I read about that several times already, so it is more than possible.
It sounds strange to me because I thought that the move of Vowles was meaning that Williams become Mercedes team B (as Haas for Ferrari or Alpha Tauri for Red Bull), but if the motorization will be Porsche than I think there is to wait for to understand better what it is going on.

Just saw on YouTube that Formula 1 announced locked in 23 races calendar for 2023 season.
Left appropriate comment under that news… “Most expensive season ever!”

The season still didn't start and it's getting heated already with rumors, it is becoming clear now that Mercedes is very confident that they have gained power over the competition.. given reliability was worse for the red team
I have no doubt Mercedes will be in the mix this season, but will it be enough to lead again?

I have no doubt Mercedes will be in the mix this season, but will it be enough to lead again? it depends on how Pre-Season Testing and the Practice sessions of the Australian GP go - it's far too early to determine the pace of one team yet to me.

Sure time will tell, no need to wait until the evidence is on the table to have a conversation about the possible rumors running through the field.

I say Lewis Hamilton is on the rising side, just the talent of him is a major contribute to Mercedes... maybe the thing with Mercedes is the wild card George Russel if they adjust as team mates... The engines of Scuderias are 2nd plan it is all about the pilots talent now... no pressures !

perhaps the guys at the top should lend a hand to the considerably smaller debts of its newcomers to the sport who have to take out such loan, like De Vries. Greed everywhere and all Lewis or the loan company would say is they don't owe anyone else a living - while they lap up everything they can themselves. Shows its a dog eat dog world at the least and maybe a heartless argument can be had on their side that it isn't their job to look after others, only their own interest, and they would probably be right.
62 million and loans aside, its a good job none of these people have to worry about their next meal. Keep in mind we've no idea of the endorsements that De Vries might have also. There's two sides to each story, it could be he broke the terms of whatever contract was put in front of him without understanding or reading the small print carefully enough. Possibly not, but sometimes these stories are written and slanted in one direction.

Its always a 'save the poor victims' mentality with you? What about people actually achieving through their own hard work? So the guys who've worked hard to be successful must now make the sport entirely free for anybody and everybody who wants to take part now? Cause, lets be real, thats what you actually saying here, why must DeVries get special treatment to make it affordable for him but not all the people with dreams to be a racing driver? Why not just have the sports entirely funded by the current F1 grid, ala social grants style? Part of the responsibilities of F1 grid, fund everybody else.
This also seems not about the loan at all, but that DeVries renegged on his side of the contract, which certainly going to be an interesting story to follow as it unfolds. If whats in that article is remotely true, DeVries is some hot water indeed.

it always will play in a similar manner, I don't imagine the best drivers being in F1, very limited amount of seats, and teams bringing paying drivers to make extra cash. We all see rich kids with some talent secure places for years, while talented guys are overlooked.. It only gets more expensive, since the scale can be tipped with money..

This is the sad inevitable result of cost capping. Mechanic salaries will fall to minimum wage - most will just be glad for the experience and the CV entry before they burn-out at 25 and get a real job - while drivers, team principals, CTOs, etc (three highest paid employees are exempt from the cap) pay will sky-rocket.
