I don't think the derogatory comments are necessary here. Gender identity itself is not a political thing, but discussions about the local regimes standpoint on it is. Still, if people have nothing constructive to say about this sensitive subject it's better they change their focus elsewhere.

Thread summary:
- OP mixes up Driver and Player, hilarity ensues. - Bunch of people get their knickers in a twist because outdated morals - Bunch of more people get their knickers in a twist because they feel like going against those outdated morals is a violation of the "no politics" rule. - OP gets told that a bunch of the things they want is already in the game. - more silly comments - comments about silly comments being silly
My opinion:
The gender setting on the player profile should probably get another option, "non-binary". Alternatively, make it free-form. We already have so many free-form entry fields in the player profile, one more doesn't really make a difference. While we're there, there's a bunch of other PII that nobody cares about and could be removed (height, weight). We're not a dating website.
The driver profile should stay as it is. Respect the drivers' privacy and don't add extraneous info without impact on the game.
While GPRO isn't the place to fight for minority rights in whatever corner of the world you're in, we shouldn't be excluding those minorities, either. The aforementioned gender-setting would probably be sufficient, though.
There's plenty of ways to show your support to LGBTQ, already: Alter-ego profile pic, which apparently doesn't have the restriction on religion and politics. Rainbow pit-crew. Personal car livery with rainbow flag. Putting it into your manager profile (unless there's a rule I missed).

First of all, thanks for enriching my overall knowledge. I thought the movement is #LGBTQ all over the planet, but apparently in Hungary the G is replace with M, for a word that means warm but is assosciated with gay people.
Second, as others have pointed out this wouldn't add anything to the game overall, so it does feel like you want special treatment.
Third, but I think, most important, you are depriving yourself of something which I find very important when it comes to games similair to GPRO and that is interesting storytelling! You don't need a drop down menu, you can write a whole story around your current driver on your profile. This could lead to more people being interested in the story you are waving which would not only be a more powerful tool against the opposition - you could make it personalized or less, depending on your preference. Surely, you'd be able to address the issues and represantation that you really think people should focus on better! Better than a single choosable option that just shows up, in my honest opinion. I have to note that not everyone likes to read a long manager career description, but I for one am always interested in the lengthy ones, even if they are someone's recap of a season.
Last, but not least: I also think that the space that such games give for storytelling by players is great, recently picked up a browser game around fighting, where I have signed two different fighters who just happen to share a family name. In my media statements I always present them as brothers and I tell how excited they both are to fight in the same arena, or how less hungry for a fight they are when the other brother is injured/sick/far away. It just adds realism and makes the character you "control" more interesting. To yourself and hopefully to others, too! :)

- Bunch of more people get their knickers in a twist because they feel like going against those outdated morals This is your opinion, or personal preference / belief, not a fact. This falls under religious discussion, and shouldn't be interjected into the discussion. Therefor: There is no way to address this opinion without delving into a religious discussion.

CRAP, now I did it too :(

The title needs to be corrected to Managers, not Drivers, as that is what is causing a lot of confusion.
Past that, as already said, its already possible to use your profile, your pitcrew/livery options to express yourself :)

Hell no. Let's not submit to identitarianism. Men are men and women are women, that should be respected.

Holy sh*t guys!! This is a game, it's not real. Most Gpro player's do not care what gender, nationality or married status the driver has. That bit of information is not required to ''PRETEND' as a 'team manager' in a web based game with +13,000 other people.
Male, female or gorilla (some driver's look like gorillas, not the females but they're scary too) once you hire them you, forget about the looks or gender. Whether they are right handed, left handed or gender neutral does not change the data you input to 'race'.
Should Mickey Mouse be gender neutral or obviously have man junk? Let's ask him. :)
Maybe ask your driver his preference?

Love this response Thijs Rieken
To be serious, GPRO drivers don't have a gender defined in their profile. Therefore, I don't think there's any exclusion taking place. You can imagine drivers to be any gender you want!
Perfect answer along with Kirsty saying There's confusion between the driver profile and the manager profile.
I thought maybe with a PM to the mods there could be an option insert in the gender space whatever the individual wishes? As long as its genuine rather than having a drop down box full of options hopefully this is something you personally can ask them in a pm.
And I also really like the idea of Rumen Monov to write the story of your drivers character on your profile in this way your totally unlimited free to be yourself and with no limitations and can enjoy the narrative you weave I actually had a good time reading the responses to this some made me laugh as they were tongue in cheek some were honest thoughtful response's but the essential thing is to be kind to one another :)
Most important is
whats the plan for the net race? -which parts I can save replacing before the reset? - I can I squeeze a test in? -will it mean smoking the last race and upsetting my sponsors. what will my final cash balance be?
Can I get safe at Jeddah as nobody has any reliable data yet! Why despite my warnings will my driver put on weight and go slack on the gym sessions over the reset :P
As ever I look forward to throwing pingu and getting into the new the season and the excitement it brings after week off which always goes so slowly. Happy racing.
