Why would I have scored one fewer with the same formation?
|
|
|
Home advantage, in this case (but not always), is enough to make the difference.

I feel surprised that funny tactical extravagances draw bigger attention by participants that the fact that we have a clear league winner, with still one round to go...
Camp Riordan and @Shannon Fuerte (R60) - congratulations! You rock!

Oddities are fun. :)
Congrats Shannon!

Anyone available to play this new man in a friendly?

|

Thanks guys!
I will admit, I'm proud of the read that I had on Anna's frontline. :)

Quote ( Nate Lung @ November 9th 2021,00:31:36 ) Also... stadium upgrades? (Just updated match graphics... not unique stadiums for everyone.) I tried to balance having readable coordinate guides while also not distracting from the field itself... which is tough.

Already have two results of the final three matches of the season!
How will teams finish as they look to surge with momentum into season 2?
Edit- Here's a thought on realism... maybe wingers (sideline players) should only score 2 points instead of 3 when unopposed (4 instead of 6 for forward line). This decreases the emphasis on putting many players wide, but could still be beneficial if unmarked. I'd be very curious to see what it does to the dynamics of your tactical decisions.

I still think what is needed, to make the game more realistic, it's doing something with distinguishing in points the situation of players stopped diagonally once and twice.
As for now player not stopped at all gets 3x multiplier player stopped diagonally (once or twice) gets 1x multiplier, and the player stopped centrally gets 0.
IMHO either player stopped diagonally twice should get also 0, or the multipliers for being (not stopped, stopped diagonally 1x, stopped diagonally 2x, stopped centrally) should be changed e.g. to (4;2;1;0).

I have rather strong disagreement to this, because of the effect on match results. It would almost certainly drastically increase the number of draws, while also reducing scoring… if my math is correct.

On the back of scoring 12 last week... Flynn nets EIGHT this week against the Highlanders. However, they also concede eight for the match to end in a draw. That draw, however, is enough to earn second place honors for Olympus Mons, as Woolf and Twain play out their own draw– each scoring five.
Twain City seemed to be constantly in the picture at the top of the table this season, behind Woolf in the early stages, and then just behind Riordan later on. In the end, they claim third on goal difference over Flynn and Woolf... though Flynn Association was the highest scoring team in the league... and also the worst defensive team in the league.
Tie for last after the opening two matches, and only a single win in the first four... but Camp Riordan rides a six-game win streak to close the season and claim the first ever MPL title, even clinching it a week early... what a season!
It could reasonably be said that Riordan's defense won them the title. They conceded five goals fewer than anyone else and only an average of 2.8 per game. This can be said because only Woolf and Crewe Dumas scored fewer, jumping ahead of Dumas in the scored goal in beating them by a goal. Crewe Dumas will undoubtedly be hoping for better next season.
Thank you all for playing another of my silly games! And see y'all in Season 2 :)

Lol, I made a mistake in my submission and did A2 instead of A3. Thats what happens when you don’t check!

Flynn Association was the best attack and worst defense in the league, YES! xD

I noticed... and decided to go with exactly what you sent. You would have lost (giving Woolf a win, lol) if I had corrected to what you intended. But since it didn't really matter at this point, I decided not to ask.

Imagine the Martian headlines….manager blunders saves draw for team :D

Ania ended up 5th in the end? That's a shock.

Would have been 3rd, and tied for 2nd, if Chew hadn't mistyped :P

Thank you, @Nate Lung (R120), for the whole season excellent organizing. Again congratulations to Camp Riordan for clear win.
