Having four guys going for promotion means nobody in the top 10 is sandbagging this year to avoid it. Points for the managers outside the top 10/12 are going to be very tough this year. Calling it now, at least one manager is going to retain with 0 points!

Only four? :P i believe 6 of us want to promote this season. Yea i agree, 0 points retention is possible this season lol.

Yes...I think I lowered my speed to early...we (all 6 promoters and maybe more) need to push and try to brake this chain until half of season...I dont think it will happen but it would be the best for all of us. In this pace, we all are going to spent a lot of money and other managers will struggle for points so we will all loose.

Maybe, also this track seems have massive energy drain. Watching other groups many guys run out of energy.

Yep i agree, this season is good for yokos so far but definitely isn't the worse scenario for BYs either. Imho the hottest were on rain, that means when we were 'strongest' the rain came to tie the ground. I can't imagine how many cold races are waiting for us in this season lol :P

I will not hide - this is actually first time this season, when I run out of energy. Even more - first time that I made under 10% after the race.
In the topic of next race - it's not even full wet - maybe 3-5 dry laps at start as always, and then 50%-60% in 1h-1h30m perdiod AND 0%-10% in final period. Quick reminder - in S82 it was 75%-85% in final period and stopped raining on lap 52. It will all depends on strategy - back to Estoril - Tony won, Oliver P4 - I with Kristijan messed up with dry start.
Btw. Juan got random in R2, Tony today, when my turn?

I'm still limiting the damage for the moment and I don't intend to slow down in mid-season Kristijan ;)

Well, is all about 'luck'... i remember a race in montreal (2 seasons ago) where rain started at lap 20 when it was 65- 75 % rain prob. i can bet you that only 1 extra lap in Estoril and i wouldn't make it to the end, then would be better start on dry than rain tyres. and about suppliers i believe that isn't good for BY but durab advantage will help this race, also is better if there rains for them, even if isn't the whole race :P

Well... you're a bit late to wish me no randoms, it happened already and it cost way more than 1 min :P
Anyway, my last worry is who's faster between different groups, i don't care if you're faster or if your group is the fastest. It doesn't make easier for me or anybody around here.
PS. Imho, M1 may be slower than M5, just that doesn't means that is easier.

@Rafal Celejewski (M5) I do not understand what you are seeing. When I look at the OBR, I can easily make the case that it shows M1 is the toughest group with M5 slightly behind and M2 being the easiest.
Managers in the top 10 - M1=4 , M5=3 Managers in the top 20 - M1=7 , M5=6 Managers in the top 30 - M1=9 , M5=9
Looks pretty close to me, with the edge to M1!

Really? I can see 3 managers from M5 at top5 :) Does it mean that only 1 manager defines if a group is tough or not? Let's not forget that so far we have weather which favors yokos and contis.

Yes, yes, yes. We can discuss this for whole night/day (depends on time zone :D), but still we won't end with any reasonable conclusion. If I would race today in M5 I would easly win with 40s, but also I would have been 6th in Adelaide, when I was 2nd in M1.
And the most crucial IF - If I would not pick Michelini, I would not be in this promotion battle, thats for sure.

Exactly, my objection was that it's really hard to determine if a group is tough or not especially when looking at results from one race. There are different strategies across the groups (it means for instance blocking :D) and what is more, different situations and plans of each manager - some do spa every race, some do a different type of training.

I completely agree, I think OBR is a terrible judge of how tough a group is.
M1 is a tough group as there are 6 managers pushing hard for promotion, leaving the second tier of managers fighting for spots 6-8. As I stated earlier, with managers not taking races off it is going to be very tough for managers outside the top 12-14 to score points. A complete 180 from last season when there was a ton of sandbagging as only 2 managers wanted to promote!

My positions in M1 and if I was in M5:
R1 - 3 - 4 R2 - 1 - 2 R3 - 1 - 2 R4 - 17 - 14 R5 - 13 - 13 R6 - 2 - 1
This shows that M1 and M5 are really side by side. OBR time is not important since one random drops you down a lot.

You guys are missing one importante factor here. Ivan Silva, the true blocker. He start P4 to make sure blocking you to hold his P12 in the end of the race.

Kristijan was real good at that too, when he was too fast but didn't want to promote! Perfectly viable tactic.

@Guilherme Franco (M5) its called using low risks. Dont blame me if you cant overtake while using the mighty BR tyres. You should have more than enough pace to overtake me easily anyday
