I especially like that the tournament's final round coincided with a race in the US. Very thematic. :)

Welcome to PEBBLE BEACH and the FINAL Day of the U.S.OPEN on another pretty cold and bleak day with just a small breeze and lots of cloud in the skies though rainfall is not forecast, but this has not stopped the crowds from turning out in very large numbers once again.
The players could find this final day pretty tough, not only because of the bleak weather, but also because the holes have been placed in some very tough positions, though you would expect one or two players to step up to the mark and post a good score ….. but that is not a given so lets’ just Buckle up and go for a roller-coaster ride on this FINAL round of the U.S.OPEN .

Group 1
Eduardo showed everybody the way on the course today and set a target for the rest of the field with an error free round containing a single Birdie on the front nine and a single Birdie on the back nine but the best part was his 1st superb HOLE-IN-ONE to finish the day with 68 and 4 Under Par - a great start to the day https://i.imgur.com/XA7CwIS.png
Kai matched that score for his 1st error free round as he played Par score golf on the front nine and remained solid until the last 2 holes where he grabbed 2 Eagles, one of which was his 1st HOLE-IN-ONE of the season to finish on 68 and 4 Under Par – nice golf https://i.imgur.com/7hslmgt.png
Kyle could not match his playing partners as he dropped 2 Double Bogeys on the front nine and never fully recovered. He did get 2 Birdies on the back nine but dropped a Bogey to finish the day on a disappointing 75 and 3 Over Par https://i.imgur.com/bkreHDC.png

Group 2
Mark did not enjoy his day put here today as he posted his worst score so far and could not cope with the weather or the course. He never got going and could not get consistency as he dropped 2 Double Bogeys and 5 Bogeys to finish on 81 and 9 Over Par for the day – Best forgoet this one. https://i.imgur.com/1TfrPpP.png
Grant did not really get it all going here today though he started with a Birdie but soon dropped a Double Bogey on the front nine. Onto the back nine and he grabbed 2 more Birdies but then finished Double Bogey, Bogey to card a final score of 74 and 2 Over Par for the day. Not too great a finish. https://i.imgur.com/W66A2Yp.png
Mike had a mediocre round as he started well on the front nine as he grabbed 2 Birdies before the break and all was going well till he dropped a late Bogey on the back nine so only finished on 71 and 1 Under Par for the day – a nearly round https://i.imgur.com/AUdCx2m.png

Group 3
Ricardo produced his best round to date as he put together an error free round with Par golf on the front nine and then picked up 3 Birdies on the back nine to end his day on a score of 69 and 3 Under Par for a nice finish to the event https://i.imgur.com/Jdm1wFL.png
Steve had a mixed front nine as he picked up a Birdie but dropped a Double Bogey before the break. On his back nine it improved as he played solid golf and grabbed 4 more Birdies to finish the day on 69 and 3 Under Par for a good finish https://i.imgur.com/XouqDAy.png
Sheri picked up another error free round as she played solid Par golf on the front nine and would have done the same on the back nine but she picked up 2 Birdies and finished her day on a score of 70 and 2 Under Par https://i.imgur.com/udWNFPN.png

Group 4
Keith could not quite keep on top of his game as he dropped a single Bogey on the front nine and then on the back nine picked up a Birdie but let it drop with a Double Bogey to finish his day on a score of 74 and 2 Over Par for a disappointing finish to the event. https://i.imgur.com/AitlHsE.png
Despite the conditions Alan managed to get on top of his game and played solid golf on the front nine with nothing special and then continued that to the back nine and finished Birdie Eagle to produce an error free round of 69 and 3 Under Par which would not do his chances any harm https://i.imgur.com/3YdPpKg.png
Mike also kept on top of his round despite dropping an early Double Bogey on the front nine as his back nine he grabbed 2 Birdies and a wonderful HOLE-IN-ONE – his 1st of the season as he finished on 70 and 2 Under Par for the day. https://i.imgur.com/kgc8D04.png

Group 6
John played yet another error free round as he played solidly on the front nine with Par scores and then on the back nine, he finished with a Birdie and an Eagle to come home with a score of 69 and 3 Under Par for the day to keep him in the top half of the Leader Board https://i.imgur.com/Keex47w.png
Jorge made Par score on all his holes except 2. He dropped a Double Bogey just before the break and then picked up an Eagle on the last to finish with 72 and Level Par for the final round https://i.imgur.com/1IkFsUW.png
Adam played a nice solid front nine with Par golf and then went onto the back nine with an error of a Double Bogey but he grabbed 4 Birdies and an Eagle so finished on a nice score of 68 and 4 Under Par to keep him pretty high up the Leader Board --- for now. https://i.imgur.com/GKGhQDg.png

The course and the weather seemed to be slightly getting the better of some of the players so far as they struggling to cope with the conditions and the difficult pin positions, but then there were others who were dealing well with the conditions and posting good scores. It was going to be a race to get to the end and could anybody come in with a great score to challenge for the lead.
Would the weather improve or would a player come out and tame the difficult hole and course conditions?
We don’t have too long to find out so don’t go too far as come to a climax on the 4th day

Group 7
Gavin started well on his front nine with steady golf but then dropped a Double Bogey before the break. He got back to solid golf and picked up a Birdie and Eagle on the last 2 holes to finish with 71 and 1 Under Par for the day – he had hoped for more. https://i.imgur.com/y4CkXdy.png
George never got it going on the front nine as he dropped a Double Bogey but then he settled down to Par golf and finished Birdie Eagle to card a score of 71 and 1 Under Par for the day to keep him in the top ten for the event https://i.imgur.com/jSSCfCT.png
David had a mixed round as he dropped a Double Bogey on the front nine but then picked up 2 Birdies and a superb HOLE-IN-ONE on the back nine to finish on a score of 70 and 2 Under Par to put him in a good position https://i.imgur.com/T5jMhzs.png

Group 8
Richard was giving it a good go to see if he could challenge as started well on the front nine and picked up a Birdie and on the back nine he went even better and added another 3 Birdies to his tally to finish on 68 and 4 Under Par but feared it would not be enough https://i.imgur.com/vwy14IS.png
Peter was hugely disappointed as he had to drop out from the final round as he injured himself on the practice range yesterday after the round and was unable to finish. He subsequently withdrew for the final round much to the disappointment of his many followers https://i.imgur.com/gLB1OWB.png
Jukka had reigned supreme over the course this weekend and today was no different as he played steady Par golf on the front nine but then picked up 2 Birdies and an Eagle to come home with a score of 68 and 4 Under Par – a nice finish to the event. https://i.imgur.com/mV1ej6n.png

Today has seen some valiant attempts for the top at The U.S. OPEN but there was only one stand out player since Round 2. There had been a lot of very good rounds and there was a valiant attempt from 3 or 4 players to get themselves within striking distance, but as soon as they got there, they lost ground again and so with all the scorecards taken to the scorer’s hut and verified, the final scorecard has been confirmed and is as follows: -
