Anybody else is hearing anything about Piastri replacing Latifi in Williams?

I've actually read this more than once, and even somewhere (forget where) claimed he could come in as early as mid season if Latifi doesn't up his game

Please no to Masi,, he will find a way to get Max & Horner on speed dial :(

OR, he can do a good job since the structure is now better than last year. And team principals (CEO's) are not directly influencing every move..
Hope for the best

I like Piastry, but I hope Latifi can drive without the ghosts in his mind.. I'm sure the pressure is huge in his own mind, Last year he got death threats and I bet it's not easy if you have to do a job under that pressure

DRS trains? What is the opinion?

Ross Brawn responded to George Russell's shots..
“So I think George’s opinion or the opinion of anyone in the back of the grid is not the opinions that we really listen to."

Free Practice 1 and 2 done, The bulls look to have found some issues with temperature, Ferrari continue the dominance look and Mercedes seem to have the porpoising under control and have shown the car in a lower ride stance. They looked fast, and Russell seem to have been in the mix all Friday.
Temperatures were high, with first practice seeing 52C track temps.

Sainz again lost the car a couple of times and in FP2 he hugged the wall, causing a red flag.
Latifi retired the car right after turn 8, where he was first booed, and later everybody wanted a picture with him as he was getting on the back of the marshal's motorcycle..

Verstappen was kind of upset with his mechanics, Aston Martin drivers had the absolute worst seats to watch the race, Alpines looked fast, but still in the mid pack, McLarens also, almost invisible.
Looking forward to Quali tomorrow

I'm impressed with the track in Miami, they did a fantastic job of taking a street course and giving it the feel of a closed circuit track. Lot's of speed and just enough technical to bring the drivers skill into play.

My only complaint is why the hell are they doing starting the race so late in the day and not earlier when the heat won't becorne so bad? 11am local time start would of been about right.

I do think F1 really needs to address practice and qualifying. There's just way too many close calls of the slower cars being right around the corner and in the racing line of cars on hot laps. Not only does it interfere with the fast cars lap but it's also a hazard and recipe for a serious collision.

TV scheduling for Europe and the rest of the world 11 would 4 pm in UK and 5 Pm in Central Europe, 00:30 for Australia, which is much better than 4:30
But I do think it is all tv related

Surprisingly enough the tyres held up well and I totally expected a couple more safety cars.

All in all I think it was some good racing and I think the bar has been set for Vegas, will be interesting to see what they come up with. One thing Vegas won't have is all those fake yachts on the fake water, that's something only Miami could pull off ;)) Oh yeah, and probably won't have real live mermaids.

For those of us in the US, Canada and South America most races come on anywhere between 3am and 6am as a norm. A couple do come on as late as 7am or 8am.

In South America, at least Brazil and Argentina official time, races in Europe come around 10am. Races in North America and here in Brazil are in the afternoon, around 3-5pm. I think only Baku is early as you said, and Japan/Australia are in the overnight, like 2am.

It's genuinely hard to tell whether Latifi is just that bad, or Albon is actually outperforming in races. This year's Williams is clearly a bit more competitive than last year's on certain tracks, with straight line speed helping in races, so it's hard to compare to Russell from 2021. The red hair is working well though.

I was telling about Brazil/Argentina time, not the actual race local time.
So races in Europe, which usually take place at 2pm or 3pm local time, happens at 10am here. And races in Brazil or North America are in the afternoon HERE, so I suppose they happen at night in Europe.

Apparently the race for Car updates had just begun, Barcelona will have several teams bringing big upgrades. Binotto said it's a long season, and the cost cap will be a thing to consider.
On one side, Red Bulls had been bringing key parts that made them really fast lately, they still have to shave about 5 kilos to be within the minimum weight (by regs). Well Balanced, bouncing is under control, and plenty of speed.
Ferrari has yet to start bringing significant upgrades, expected for Barcelona, Yet to have Carlos finishing races, and even winning one.

Mercedes is "in no man's land" third best car. Already brought some development to Miami, and yet to correct the bouncing issues, They found something nice in FP2 and then they quickly lost it for the rest of the weekend. Lewis having safety car issues in his race, and George being an absolute beast getting those tires quickly into the temperature window. (LH didn't pit not to lose track position with George) which ended up happening anyways.
NOTE: if you want to hear from the team here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wj1gfM5614

I really hope this season becomes more and more competitive, and more teams get to the top, It seems as it is now, winners are only two, LEC and MAX. I want more like 2012 season, where there were multiple winners in the first 10 or so races.

At least different teams so much more interesting then past several years(not counting 2021)
I would not count merc out yet. They did find something in Miami and they are not that far behind as RB and Ferrari have had issues.

Can't wait for Barcelona to see new updates on those Ferraris :P
